Late-season butterfly magnet.
Perhaps the showiest of the ironweeds, with vivid magenta flower clusters that light up the late-summer garden. Each flower head contains 30 or more disk florets, creating a dazzling display that draws swallowtails, monarchs, and dozens of other butterfly species. Silvery leaf undersides add textural interest.
